Business partners John Melody and Russ Stachewicz, owners of six Erie-area restaurants, have been selected by the ECRDA to operate a new restaurant inside Ironworks Square, a $25 million redevelopment of the former Erie Malleable Iron Co. property on West 12th Street.

There is an idea to build a naval shipyard in Erie, possibly at the site of the former Erie Coke plant. This idea caught the attention of U.S. Sen. Dave McCormick and sparked interest among local political and economic development leaders, who have launched an initiative they're calling Anchor Erie.

ECRDA is working with Union City Borough to save the historic Union City Chair Co. office building and return it to productive use.
